PLATATAC GBH-R - Tigerstripe

Platatac is proud to present an exclusive collaboration with Flimmuur Tactical (UK), bringing to life a reproduction of a classic weathered Tigerstripe pattern in a modern tactical uniform.

Tigerstripe came to prominence during the Vietnam War but was never an official US issue item, personnel permitted to wear it at first had their uniforms custom-made by local Vietnamese tailors as the ARVN uniforms were too small for most Americans; for this reason there were many variations of the basic Tigerstripe pattern. 

Soon, many American special operations forces in the Vietnamese theatre of operations wore the pattern, despite not always being attached to ARVN units: it became the visible trademark of Marine Corps Recon, Green Berets, LRRPs, SEALs, and other elite forces.

GBH-R Boonie Hat

The Platatac GBH-R is a short-brimmed boonie/bush hat and is extremely comfortable, lightweight and features a medium-height crown and shorter brim to stay out of your line of sight.

The GBH-R is available in four sizes with elastic shock cord and an ITW barrel-lock at the rear can adjust tightness for the best fit. The paracord neck strap will keep it secure whilst worn or hung around the wearer’s neck.

The internal orange hi-vis panel which can be used as a marker panel for identifying friendly forces during marry ups and RVs or as a signalling device in emergency situations, it also doubles as a pocket for storing small flat items.
