The VM load-bearing chest rig is an ambidextrous general-purpose, no-frills, load carriage solution designed with flexibility and ease of use in mind. It is designed to work as standalone or mounted to a plate carrier via quick release ITW clips. It features a large zipper in the middle for easy donning and doffing with or without armour.

The VM rig has a large carrying capacity with four double 5.56 magazine pouches with additional smaller front pouches for batteries/similar sized items. Three of the magazine pouches have double closure (Fastex clip with hook and loop) and one with a single closure method of hook and loop, all features 25mm elastic outer retention. The flaps on the mag pouches can be extended or tucked away to carry AK mags or store a small medkit, a pistol or smoke grenade.

On the extreme ends of the magazine pouches is a zippered utility pouch designed to hold either a Platatac 1L flask or AN/PRC-152 Multiband Handheld Radio in the smaller open-top inside pocket with bungee retention. Each side pouch features a smaller zippered admin pouch on the front for items like head torches, gloves, cam kits etc. and a small PALS field either side to attach MOLLE pouches. The VM rig also features 2 large mesh pockets on the rear of rig allow the user to store things like a GRG, maps, marker panels or similar sized items.

The low profile and compact/close to wearer nature with a large carrying capacity make this an excellent standalone platform for patrolling and mounted operations and allows the lowest possible profile when unzipped and lying prone if in a marksman role. The 50mm wide adjustable Chicom low profile shoulder straps are flat sewn and designed to remain as flat as possible for use with packs or over armour systems.

The VM rig is also interchangeable with all Chicom harnesses and can quickly attach to armour carriers with use of our Chicom Clip Set.
