A Stable Belt is a striped coloured belt worn by the armed forces of the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth countries. The stripes identify the unit and corps. The term "stable belt" originates from when UK cavalrymen would place the surcingle around the waist when cleaning the stables and tending to their horses.
The Australian Army adopted the stable belt in the late 1970s. They were removed from service in 1995 but were reintroduced in 2017.
The PLATATAC 2 CAV Stable belt features the Battalion crest of the Australian Wedge Tailed Eagle and the motto ‘COURAGE’ inscribed on the belt buckle. The belt webbing is in the battalion colours of green and white.
All PLATATAC Stable belts are made in Australia
