PLATATAC CRABS V2 Base Panel

The Platatac CRABS V2 Base Panel is the core platform of the CRABS load carriage system, providing a modular foundation for configuring placard and chest rig setups.

Designed in collaboration with Australian Special Operations personnel, the Base Panel allows users to rapidly configure their fighting load by combining interchangeable magazine inserts, front panels and mission-specific pouches.

The internal loop Velcro field accepts a range of Velcro-backed magazine inserts, allowing operators to configure ammunition carriage to suit the task. Supported configurations include 3 x 5.56 M4 magazines (or AK magazines rounds-up), 2 x 7.62 magazines with a pistol magazine, or 4 x 9mm sub-gun magazines, depending on the insert used.

The front loop Velcro panel allows the attachment of CRABS V2 front pockets and accessory panels, enabling users to expand or reduce load carriage depending on mission requirements.

Additional side webbing columns allow small single-column MOLLE pouches to be mounted, further increasing modularity without increasing bulk.

The Base Panel mounts directly to Platatac SMAC plate carriers and other placard-compatible armour carriers using the supplied ITW Nexus split-bar clips. It can also be configured as a stand-alone chest rig when paired with Platatac CHICOM harness systems.

With its highly adaptable architecture, the CRABS V2 Base Panel allows operators to build a load carriage solution that evolves with the mission.

The CRABS V2 system is fully material certified and NSN’d for the carriage of ammunition and explosive ordnance.
