Description

Some garments earn their reputation the hard way.

The Platatac SOF Smock is built on the DNA of the greats - the Denison Smock and the SAS Windproof garments that weren’t designed to look good on paper, but to work when conditions, terrain, and fatigue were stacked against you.

We took that lineage and rebuilt it with direct input from current UK, Australian, New Zealand, and US Special Operations personnel. The result is a modern SOF smock that respects tradition, but isn’t trapped by it.

This is a true working layer. Comfortable enough to live in, tough enough to abuse, and adaptable enough to run as a standalone garment or as part of a layered cold-weather system. It carries load when you need it to, sheds weather when it has to, and stays quiet, functional, and predictable when things get unpleasant.

The relaxed, liner-less cut allows freedom of movement and easy integration over insulation layers, while the oversized helmet-compatible hood, extended platypus-tail back, and double-layered high-wear zones keep you protected where it matters most. Every pocket, zipper, and adjustment exists for a reason - and can be operated with cold, wet, or gloved hands.

*Model wears a size Medium Smock with a Hoodie underneath. He is 5' 8" in height.

Excellent smock: comfortable ánd durable

Excellent smock: comfortable ánd durable. Stands up to hard use! Only thing I would change: Canadian buttons to secure the wind flap over the zipper instead of velcro, but that is only a personal preference.

The best smock

Great piece of kit, it is by far my favourite smock out there, want one in every camo, hopefully there will be more camos released, if they released one in m90 camo I would buy 100

One of the best smocks I own. I've owned smocks that were more expensive than this one and in my opinion it punches well above its price point. Pockets are absolutely massive and the lanyard connection points are a nice touch.

TFP SOF Smock

Excellent Smock. Exactly the same design and cut (minus a few features, no problem) as Platatac's Badger Smock. Very good value for money, if you're "old school" you'll love this Smock (ticks all the boxes for practicality) I highly recommend this product 👍👍👍. P.S. I replaced all of the "shrink wrapped" zipper tabs/silencers with paracord with 50% of the core strands removed. This is not any criticism of an excellent product, just a personal preference (I replaced all of the elastic cordage on my Badger Smock with paracord also) I just don't believe in the "durability" of elastic cordage I have had enough experience in replacing perished and slack elastic to just do it at the beginning than eventually (always) later on.
