Platatac Jungle Ops Poncho - Kumul
Description
If you haven’t operated in a poncho for any work in jungle (wet) climates, you should. The benefit of the poncho over a (full jacket system) is breathability. You get to vent that sweat out, but remain dry underneath your fully waterproof Gore-Tex sheet of goodness. These work particularly well for static positions or posts or where you aren’t moving much. The Jungle Ops Poncho is long enough at the back that you can throw it over your pack and still get great coverage.
It makes listening posts, picquet and observation posts much more comfortable, without restricting use of weapons. The Holy Grail of jungle operations is staying cool and dry. It’s usually not possible, but with the Jungle Ops Poncho, you get much closer!
Hunters, you need one of these for the upcoming hunting season, on those wet, rainy days, sitting waiting for the deer, dromedary, moose, goose, aardvark or arthropod. This is the perfect item to have with you and drape over yourself and gear.
What’s Kumul? Kumul is the colour of the camouflage pattern used by our neighbours to the north; Papua New Guinea. It’s a version of British DPM with another colour thrown in. Kumul is the local name for the Bird of paradise, which is the national bird of PNG. Kumul works across a large number of lush and dark colour environments. It’s cool.
